Evan Rachel Wood is set to join the cast of Ryan Murphy's adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis's The Shards.
Ryan Murphy's newest FX series, The Shards, has welcomed a new cast member. According to Deadline, Evan Rachel Wood (Westworld) will take on a recurring role in this mystery drama.
The Shards is based on the novel of the same name by Bret Easton Ellis, the author of American Psycho, and includes semi-autobiographical elements from Ellis' adolescence. Set in Los Angeles in 1981, the series centers around a 17-year-old Ellis as he navigates his final year at the prestigious Buckley prep school. His life is turned upside down by the arrival of a mysterious new student, Robert Mallory, whose unsettling presence coincides with the activities of a serial killer known as The Trawler.
The cast features Kaia Gerber (Bottoms), Igby Rigney (Midnight Mass), Homer Gere (Euphoria), Graham Campbell (Late Fame), and Hayes Warner.
The Shards will be produced by 20th Century Fox and Ryan Murphy Productions, with Murphy and Ellis serving as executive producers alongside director Max Winkler, who will direct the series.
