With only two weeks remaining until the second season of A Man on the Inside premieres on Netflix, the streaming platform has unveiled a trailer for the mystery comedy series.
In this season, Ted Danson returns as the retired professor-turned-detective Charles Nieuwendyk, who heads to Wheeler College to investigate a blackmail scheme targeting its president, Jack Berenger (Max Greenfield). As the list of suspects grows, Charles finds himself distracted when he becomes enamored with a free-spirited music teacher named Mona (Mary Steenburgen). Watch the trailer below…
Excited to take on a significant undercover assignment, Charles Nieuwendyk (Ted Danson) seizes the opportunity when a mysterious blackmailer threatens Wheeler College president Jack Berenger (Max Greenfield). Jack recruits Charles to go undercover as a professor. Who is behind these threats? Is it linked to the unconventional billionaire Brad Vinick (Gary Cole), a Wheeler alumnus, and his potential donation to the institution? Charles encounters numerous likely suspects, yet his focus shifts to the vibrant music teacher Mona (Mary Steenburgen), whose enthusiasm for life rekindles emotions he believed he had buried after losing his wife. Is he prepared to open his heart once more at this point in his life? More crucially, has he fallen for the very culprit he has been tasked with exposing?
Meanwhile, his daughter, Emily (Mary Elizabeth Ellis), is inspired by her father's transformation and discovers a previously neglected passion, while PI Julie (Lilah Richcreek Estrada) embarks on her own journey of self-discovery as she reconnects with a significant person from her past.
The cast includes returning actors Ted Danson, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Lilah Richcreek Estrada, Stephanie Beatriz, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Sally Struthers, and John Getz, along with newcomers Max Greenfield, Mary Steenburgen, Gary Cole, Michaela Conlin, Sam Huntington, David Strathairn, Jill Talley, Madison Hu, Lisa Gilroy, and Linda Park.
A Man on the Inside season 2 will be available on Netflix starting November 20th.
