Marvel honors Black History Month with a series of connecting covers inspired by Star Wars.
Marvel Comics has revealed its plan to highlight the black characters from the galaxy far, far away this February, as artist Taurin Clarke creates a connecting cover for Black History Month that will feature on the covers of Star Wars #10 and Star Wars: Jar Jar #1.
“I was instantly excited about this project,” Clarke stated. “Watching Return of the Jedi in theaters at the age of three inspired me to start drawing. When we got home, I spent all my time drawing TIE Fighters and X-Wings… and this was even before I became obsessed with Marvel comics!”
“There’s something inherently special knowing that this book could be someone’s first introduction to Star Wars,” he added. “ perhaps seeing characters that resemble them (illustrated by an artist who looks like them) may inspire another child to be creative. That representation is very meaningful to me.”
Here’s a preview of the connecting cover(s), featuring characters such as Lando Calrissian, Mace Windu, Saw Gerrera, Finn, Jannah, Moff Gideon, Greef Karga, Kelleran Beq, Cere Junda from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, as well as Keeve Trennis and Lula Talisola from Star Wars: The High Republic, along with Marvel’s own Sana Starros.
Star Wars: Jar Jar #1 is set to be released on February 11, 2026, with Star Wars #10 following on February 18, 2026.
