In the following interview, Cordier discusses his unexpected journey to this role and how working alongside Tom Fairfoot and Alonso Grandio turned the experience into a significant personal achievement.

      What initially attracted you to the role in Lost Horizon? Was there something about the character that felt particularly engaging or demanding?

      What initially drew me to Lost Horizon was a different character for which I auditioned. Though I didn’t land that part, I was thrilled to be offered Major Thompson. Even as more of a cameo in the broader narrative, there was something inherently captivating about him. He embodies strength, seriousness, and directness, commanding a noticeable presence each time he appears on screen. I appreciated that about him. He’s the type of character who doesn’t need a lot of scenes to leave an impression—he enters, commands the room, and makes his mark. That energy resonated with me and made the role feel significant and unforgettable.

      How did director Patrick Garcia describe the character to you, and how did your perception of the role change during rehearsals and initial script work?

      Patrick Garcia indicated that Major Thompson would suit me well due to my on-screen presence, energy, and the types of characters audiences associate me with. He also believed my extensive IMDb credits—by far the most of anyone on set—brought a notable familiarity and weight to the production. Having a recognizable name can indeed be a significant advantage for a film like Lost Horizon, which contributed to my being offered the role.

      Since Major Thompson is more of a cameo, the process was less about heavy rehearsals. It involved being well-prepared, stepping confidently into the character, delivering the moments with authority, and contributing meaningfully to the narrative. The objective was to make the character impactful even with limited screen time, which became my primary focus from the beginning.

      Lost Horizon mixes intense action with strong emotional stakes. How did you balance the physical performance with the character’s internal journey?

      Honestly, my character had minimal involvement in the action side of Lost Horizon. His most substantial “physical” actions were likely sitting in his command chair and then standing up again—so from a stunt perspective, it wasn’t physically demanding at all.

      The real highlight for me was sharing scenes with actors I’ve respected for a long time. Working alongside Tom Fairfoot was a significant personal milestone—I’ve wanted to collaborate with him for years. Being part of the same project as Alonso, who delivers a grounded and powerful performance as the main protagonist, was another major draw.

      While the role didn’t require extensive action choreography, the experience of performing with such talented individuals made it worthwhile for me.

      What physical training or preparation did you undergo for the role, and did that preparation help you tap into aspects of the character’s mindset?

      Once again, my role didn’t require physical demands in terms of action or stunts, but I did focus on physical preparation since I initially auditioned for the lead. I worked on getting leaner, improving my flexibility, and focusing on enhancing my overall physical presence.

      Even though I didn’t play the lead, that preparation naturally influenced my portrayal of Major Thompson. He is a tall, grounded character—someone who exudes respect and embodies the discipline and structure of military life. Although the role didn’t call for intense physical conditioning, the training I had completed contributed to embodying that authoritative, Army-style presence Major Thompson required.

      Were there any action sequences that challenged you or required you to learn a new skill?

      There were actually no action sequences for my character, so nothing in this role pushed me out of my comfort zone or required me to acquire new skills. Major Thompson’s role was more about strategy and authority than action, so my focus was on delivering presence, clarity, and strength rather than physical prowess.

      Without giving away spoilers, is there a specific scene that stands out as a significant moment for your character?
