MUBI has released a trailer for the Cannes Jury Prize-winning film Sound of Falling, written and directed by Mascha Schilinski.
This German drama explores the lives of four generations of young women from the 1910s, 1940s, 1980s, and 2020s, all growing up on the same farm in Northern Germany, where they confront shared traumas and secrets buried within its walls.

The story follows four girls: Alma (1910s), Erika (1940s), Angelika (1980s), and Lenka (2020s), who each spend their formative years on the same northern German farm. As the farmhouse transforms over the century, remnants of the past remain embedded in its structure. Despite the time that separates them, their stories begin to reflect one another, uncovering long-held secrets.
Sound of Falling is set to be released in theaters on January 16th.
