In the teaser for Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu's Digger, Tom Cruise takes on the role of a savior armed with a shovel.
Tom Cruise has set aside his weaponry and instead picked up a shovel as his means of saving the world in the teaser for Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu’s new film, Digger.
Warner Bros. has released a title announcement teaser trailer that showcases a mostly silhouetted Cruise dancing with his shovel, reminiscent of Les Grossman from Tropic Thunder, as the film is described as a “comedy of catastrophic proportions” from the director of Birdman and The Revenant.
The screenplay, co-written by Iñárritu, Alexander Dinelaris, Nicolas Giacobone, and Sabina Berman, reportedly centers on a man attempting to establish himself as humanity’s savior before calamity occurs. Alongside Cruise, the comedy features a strong cast including Sandra Hüller, Jesse Plemons, John Goodman, Sophie Wilde, Michael Stuhlbarg, Riz Ahmed, and Emma D’Arcy.
