      Paramount+ has released a trailer for the upcoming psychological thriller series Girl Taken.

      Inspired by Holly Overton’s novel Baby Doll, the series depicts how a small rural town in England is disrupted when a well-respected teacher kidnaps one of his students, Lily. After Lily escapes following years of abuse while in captivity, her family faces challenges in rebuilding their lives knowing her tormentor is still at large.

      Girl Taken tells the story of twin sisters Lily and Abby, whose lives are upended when Lily is taken from their peaceful rural English community by the cherished local teacher, Rick Hansen. After years of suffering in captivity, Lily escapes—only to find that freedom comes with its own struggles. The life she yearned to return to has continued without her.

      As Abby, Lily, and their mother Eve work to restore their family, they must face the enduring effects of trauma and the frightening reality that Rick is still out there, intent on steering the narrative and avoiding justice. Unfiltered and emotionally charged, Girl Taken offers a compelling examination of trauma, resilience, sisterhood, and the steep price of reclaiming one’s life.
