BOYS AND GIRLS OF ALL AGES — GET READY FOR SOMETHING FRESH AND ODD! This January marks the debut of Dynamite's first ongoing comic book series based on the cherished film Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas! Written by renowned author TORUNN GRØNBEKK (known for Red Sonja, Catwoman, and Thor) and illustrated by the exceptionally gifted EDU MENNA, Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Shiver of Christmas Town transports readers back to the magical realms of Halloween Town and Christmas Town for a brand-new adventure that will leave them in stitches!
The story begins with the reveal of Dr. Finkelstein’s latest creation, crafted to be the most terrifying being ever prepared for All Hallow’s Eve. However, things have gone awry, resulting in a creature that's more cute and cuddly than frightening. Disheartened, the scientist entrusts the newcomer to Sally for safekeeping, who names it Shiver due to its icy breath.
In the meantime, the Mayor has tasked Lock, Shock, and Barrel with instructing the residents of Christmas Town on the art of trick-or-treating, as the two communities have initiated a new effort to share their holiday customs. With Christmas Town celebrating Halloween for the first time, the trio is taking their mission quite seriously — maybe just a bit too much! In their quest to make their pranks more realistic and scary, they opt to “borrow” some materials from Dr. Finkelstein’s lab — resulting in far more than they expected with the adorably deceptive Shiver!
Featuring a lively array of seasonal covers from artists JAE LEE & JUNE CHUNG, SOO LEE, and ALAN QUAH, Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Shiver of Christmas Town #1 also includes a special selection of artwork from the Disney Library to enhance its cover offerings!
