Apple TV has officially unveiled a first look at Cape Fear, the new TV series inspired by Martin Scorsese’s 1991 film adaptation of John D. MacDonald’s novel The Executioners. The show stars Amy Adams and Patrick Wilson as a married couple of public defender attorneys who become targets of the deranged Max Cady (Javier Bardem) after his release from prison.
Inspired by the 1991 remake directed by Martin Scorsese and produced by Steven Spielberg, a storm brews for the happily married attorneys Anna (Amy Adams) and Tom Bowden (Patrick Wilson) when Max Cady (Javier Bardem), the infamous murderer they helped convict, is released from prison, seeking revenge.
Cape Fear is created by Nick Antosca (Channel Zero, Brand New Cherry Flavor) and features a cast that also includes CCH Pounder, Anna Baryshnikov, Margarita Levieva, Jamie Hector, Lily Collias, Joe Anders, Malia Pyles, Patrick Fischler, Ted Levine, and Ron Perlman.
Cape Fear is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on June 5th.
