A new Doctor Who adventure sends The Ninth Doctor and Rose to Cloud Eight.
Big Finish has unveiled the newest audio adventure featuring Christopher Eccleston’s Doctor in The Ninth Doctor Adventures: Cloud Eight. This latest story, penned by Lauren Mooney and Stewart Pringle, transports the Doctor and Rose Tyler back to Earth, specifically to the 47th century, in a floating city situated high above Britain.
The Doctor has previously taken Rose to the distant future and even shown her the end of Earth, but this time they visit the 47th century, during Earth’s Second Dark Age. They arrive in High High Wycombe, an opulent locale that hovers above Britain, where the inhabitants enjoy a life of leisure free from work and expenses.
However, during their visit with Elsa and her parents, the idyllic façade starts to crumble, exposing a dark and sinister turmoil brewing within the young girl's mind. While everyone else in High High Wycombe sleeps peacefully, Elsa is plagued by nightmares. Can the Doctor and Rose assist her and thwart the ancient malevolent force that is looming?
Joining Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper are Felicity Cant as Elsa, Louise Faulkner as Chihiro, a resident of High High Wycombe, and Charlie Condou and Laurence Boothman as Elsa’s two fathers.
The Ninth Doctor Adventures: Cloud Eight is currently available on the Big Finish website for £9.99 for the download or £11.99 for both the download and collector’s edition CD. This is the fourth installment in a series of twelve new audio adventures featuring the Ninth Doctor and Rose, and a bundle of all twelve releases (as downloads) can be pre-ordered at a reduced price of £102.
