Sent to Earth as an infant from the dying planet Krypton, Kal-El was discovered by farmers Martha and Jonathan Kent, who raised him as their son, Clark. As Clark matured, the radiation from Earth's yellow sun granted him remarkable powers, which he kept concealed. Now an adult, he utilizes his abilities to safeguard his adopted planet as Superman. However, after many adventures, Superman is currently missing and thought to be dead. In reality, the Man of Steel is imprisoned on Warworld by the new Mongul. Compelled to fight for survival in an arena and devoid of his powers, Superman must remain alive and find a way back home.
