Boots Riley Unveils Fashion Heists in New Trailer for I Love Boosters

      Following his directorial debut, Sorry to Bother You, Boots Riley returns with his new film, I Love Boosters. Featuring Keke Palmer, Naomi Ackie, Taylour Paige, Poppy Liu, Eiza González, LaKeith Stanfield, Will Poulter, Don Cheadle, and Demi Moore, the movie premiered at SXSW this month to a positive reception. With a release date set for May 22, NEON has just released a new trailer.

      Here’s a brief synopsis: "A team of professional shoplifters targets a ruthless fashion mogul. It’s like doing community service."

      In his review, John Fink remarked, "A satire of dialectical materialism (you’ll grasp its significance when you see the film), superficial economies, and the fast fashion cult, I Love Boosters—Boots Riley's second feature as a rapper, activist, and filmmaker—delivers an energetic and comedic experience in its first two acts before reverting to action-comedy clichés in its conclusion. Perhaps it’s challenging to maintain the wild energy established in its opening, which initially presents a critique of capitalism that is as sharp as Riley’s debut, Sorry to Bother You."
