John Hannah is coming together again with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz for The Mummy 4.
After being absent from last month's official announcement regarding the sequel, it has now been confirmed that John Hannah will join Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz in Universal’s horror-adventure sequel, The Mummy 4.
The new installment is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett from Radio Silence (known for Scream and Ready Or Not) and will reunite the trio of adventurers from the original 1999 film, with Fraser reprising his role as Rick O’Connell and Weisz and Hannah returning as siblings Evelyn and Jonathan Carnahan. The script has been written by David Coggeshall (The Family Plan), though details about the plot are currently being kept secret.
The untitled sequel will represent the fourth film in the series for both Fraser and Hannah, while Rachel Weisz did not participate in the last installment, 2008’s The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, where the role of Evelyn was taken on by Maria Bello.
Production is set to begin in the fall, aiming for a release date of May 19, 2028.
About Gary Collinson: Gary Collinson is a producer and writer of film, TV, and digital content, serving as the Editor-in-Chief of the pop culture website Flickering Myth and the producer of the gothic horror feature 'The Baby in the Basket' and the suspense thriller 'Death Among the Pines'.
