HBO and BBC unveil the initial trailer for Half Man featuring Richard Gadd and Jamie Bell.

      HBO and the BBC have unveiled a trailer for Half Man, an upcoming drama by Richard Gadd (Baby Reindeer).

      This limited series revolves around childhood friends Niall and Ruben (played by Jamie Bell and Gadd), who have a profound connection that emerges through the tragedies of death and circumstance. However, when Ruben appears at Niall’s wedding behaving oddly, an eruption of violence propels viewers back through the last thirty years of their lives.

      The cast includes Gadd and Bell alongside Stuart Campbell, Mitchell Robertson, Neve McIntosh, Marianne McIvor, Charlie De Melo, Bilal Hasna, Julie Cullen, Amy Manson, Anjli Mohindra, Tim Downie, Tom Andrews, Philippine Velge, Stuart McQuarrie, Sandy Batchelor, Piers Ewart, Scot Greenan, Charlotte Blackwood, Calum Manchip, and Kate Robson-Stuart.

      Niall and Ruben share a brotherly bond. Though not related by blood, they are as close as brothers can be—one is fierce and loyal, while the other is mild-mannered and timid. Their inseparable youth is intertwined with death and circumstance; they rely solely on each other. But when Ruben reappears at Niall’s wedding three decades later, everything feels different. He is anxious, evasive, and not himself. Soon, a violent outburst occurs, launching the narrative back through their lives from the eighties to today. Spanning thirty years in the lives of these troubled men, HALF MAN is a six-part limited series that examines themes of brotherhood, violence, and the delicate nature of male relationships. Ultimately, when everything crumbles, it’s often the closest bonds that suffer the most.

      Half Man debuts on HBO Max in the US on April 23rd and on BBC iPlayer in the UK on April 24th.
