La selección de la Quincena de los Directores de Cannes 2026 incluye a Radu Jude, Lisandro Alonso, Kantemir Balagov, Clio Barnard y otros.

Following the announcement of the main sections for the 2026 Cannes Film Festival last week, we now have the lineups for three sidebar events. Most notably, Directors’ Fortnight has disclosed its exciting lineup, which features Kantemir Balagov’s Butterfly Jam, with Barry Keoghan and Riley Keough, Radu Jude’s Diary of a Chambermaid, Lisandro Alonso’s Double Freedom (La libertad doble), Clio Barnard’s I See Buildings Fall Like Lightning, Dominga Sotomayor’s La Perra, among others. Also included is the best film from Sundance, Once Upon A Time In Harlem, by William Greaves & David Greaves.

“Under the pastoral and bucolic perspective of Alain Guiraudie, the 58th edition of Directors’ Fortnight will showcase 19 feature films and 9 short films as part of our new selection,” stated Artistic Director Julien Rejl. “We will be highlighting works from 19 countries across five continents, with special contributions from nations with limited international visibility, such as Nigeria, Sudan, Guatemala, Venezuela, and Cyprus. We are thrilled by the notable presence of documentaries (3 features and 2 shorts) and animations (3 features and 2 shorts), highlighting uniquely distinctive works that reflect the remarkable richness and dynamism of both forms.”

He adds, “The 2026 selection features both well-established filmmakers and emerging talents (including 6 directorial debuts), as well as directors whose artistic styles are still evolving. Additionally, we are privileged to present a special event: the premiere of Alain Cavalier’s newest film. He was among the early pioneers in discovering new films and talents at the start of the Fortnight. We take great pride in showcasing the last chapter of his filmed diary. Welcome to the Directors’ Fortnight’s global journey!”
