Warlord introduces the release of four new Commando Comics.
Four new editions of Commando Comics have just been released, with the first featuring a brand new thrilling adventure for Lord Peter Flint, also known as Warlord. Accompanying this are tales of the courageous Polish resistance and a few classic issues from the 70s and 80s.
Issue 5947 (Home of Heroes): CODENAME WARLORD: Shadow Sands presents a fresh adventure for Warlord by Dominic Teague. In what might be his most perilous mission yet, a group of German commandos and Professor Kranz’s robotic Panzermen have seized a biological weapons facility located in a fort off the coast of England. Warlord’s contact, Kingpin, along with the scientists, is being held hostage, but intelligence hints at potential German assistance, placing suspicion on Kingpin. Warlord has until midnight to save the hostages and exonerate Kingpin. Will he succeed?
This issue features a cover by Neil Roberts and interior art by Paolo Ongaro.
In 5948 (Gold): Desert Double-Cross, a British soldier, battle-hardened from the conflicts at Tobruk, Dunkirk, and El Alamein, finds himself alongside a German veteran from North Africa and Crete, both firing their weapons and cutting down foes together. On that day, German and British soldiers fought fiercely as allies in the ruins of an old fort, but against whom?
Originally published as No. 604 in 1971, this issue is penned by CG Walker, with cover art by Ian Kennedy and interior illustrations by Cam Kennedy.
In 5949 (For Action and Adventure): Phoenix From The Flames transports readers to Warsaw in the summer of 1944. The city has witnessed the Germans' brutal treatment, especially towards the Jewish ghetto, but Monika Proch from the valiant underground Polish Home Army is resolute in her mission to shield the rest of her city from a similar fate.
Phoenix From The Flames is authored by Andrew Knighton, featuring art by Vicente Alcazar and cover artwork by Marco Bianchini.
Lastly, in 5950 (Silver): Swamp Strike, CG Walker guides readers through treacherous jungle terrain with a platoon of soldiers tasked with assaulting a hidden enemy supply depot. A dependable and clear-headed leader should ideally be in charge of such a mission, but what if the commander is someone whose deceit has caused significant issues? This issue, first published in 1984 as No. 1858, reveals the consequences of having such an individual in command.
Art by Carrion and cover art by Philpott.
These four new issues are now available at all reputable retailers or on the Commando Comics website.
