Yeon Sang-ho, the creator of Train to Busan, reveals additional zombie mayhem in the teaser trailer for Colony.
Renowned Korean genre filmmaker Yeon Sang-ho, known for his work on Train to Busan, Peninsula, and Hellbound, returns to the realm of zombie horror with Colony, a survival story centered on a group of individuals confined in a high-rise during a zombie apocalypse. Co-written by Yeon Sang-ho and Choi Gyu-seok, and produced by Yoomin Hailey Yang, Colony, also referred to as 군체, features a cast that includes Gianna Jun, Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook, Shin Hyun-been, Kim Shin-rock, and Go Soo. The plot follows biotechnology professor Se-jeong (Jun Ji-hyun), who is attending a biotech conference that descends into chaos with the outbreak of a rapidly mutating virus. The infection leads to the transformation of those affected, resulting in authorities sealing off the venue and trapping the survivors with an intensifying danger.
Colony is scheduled to premiere in the Midnight Section at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival in May, before being released globally in 2026, including in the US and Canada on August 28th.
