Doctor Who: The Twelfth Doctor Adventures – Run Fast, Be Kind is set to be released by Big Finish this July.
Big Finish has announced additional story details for the upcoming audio drama series The Twelfth Doctor Adventures: Run Fast, Be Kind, which will launch this July and is available for pre-order now. This new series, consisting of six episodes, features the Doctor gaining a new companion, Ash Wilton, from the end of time.
These episodes take place between the Doctor Who Christmas specials, The Husbands of River Song and The Return of Doctor Mysterio. Throughout their adventures, listeners will follow the Doctor and Ash as they traverse time and space while inadvertently approaching an old and perilous foe—the Eternal Dalek, last encountered by the Eleventh Doctor in Victory of the Doctor.
The six episodes in this new Twelfth Doctor series include:
- The Second Death by Alfie Shaw: At the universe's end, a solitary traveler crosses the desolate Kersarin, bringing joy to those who hear his songs and tales. Ash Wilton offers a sliver of hope to those engulfed in darkness, though he is quite certain that time travelers don't frequent the end of existence.
- In The Broken Man by Rochana Patel, the Doctor and Ash find themselves in Scotland, where the Doctor has unresolved matters. An archaeological puzzle awaits them, one the Doctor is eager to unravel.
- The Beautiful and the Damned by Katherine White transports the duo to a futuristic haven for content creators. Developed by Best Life Inc., Mentior City guarantees a perfect environment for anyone looking to grow an audience. For those who feel they don’t measure up, the company provides a makeover using their Refiner system.
- Based on a tale by Alex Hewitt, Alfie Shaw’s Wings of Steel leads the listeners to the devastated realm of Doorahla, where the Ultima have gathered. They’ve triumphed over their foes and captured a Time Lord.
- Duty of Care by Christian Markham explores the Doctor’s principles; he doesn’t kill his adversaries, not even those he loathes. He disrupts wicked schemes but extends mercy. Nevertheless, someone disagrees with his approach and is traveling through time and space to eliminate all villains who lived due to the Doctor's clemency.
- Lastly, in The Second Death of the Daleks by Alfie Shaw, a solitary wanderer journeys through the desolate Kersarin, bringing light to those in shadow with his songs and narratives. This scenario seems eerily similar, and the Doctor is fairly certain he has already destroyed that Dalek.
The Twelfth Doctor Adventures: Run Fast, Be Kind is currently available for pre-order at £43.99 for all six digital episodes. For a limited time, the first episode can be pre-ordered for £5.99.
