Jamie Dornan set to portray Aragorn as The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum releases teaser.

      With the return of The Lord of the Rings to the big screen, it’s crucial to create a significant impact to elevate the fanbase to the levels it achieved with The Return of the King. If this year's CinemaCon presentation is any indication, it appears that Warner Bros. is serious about The Hunt for Gollum.

      One of the most noteworthy announcements from the event was Jamie Dornan taking on the role of Strider, the leader of the Northern Dúnedain Rangers, more commonly known to fans as Aragorn. This follows Andy Serkis's confirmation of a recasting for the character, which was previously portrayed by Viggo Mortensen.

      In Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, Serkis will direct and reprise his role as Gollum, which he became widely recognized for in Peter Jackson's original Lord of the Rings trilogy, as well as his appearance in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

      Joining Dornan will be Leo Woodall, making his franchise debut as Halvard, another Dúnedain character. Halvard is said to accompany Strider on the titular quest. Kate Winslet will also be a new addition to the series, playing the character Marigol. Returning cast members include Lee Pace as Thranduil, Ian McKellen as Gandalf, and Elijah Wood as Frodo. At the time of writing, there are no further casting announcements.

      "Over the course of two trilogies, a hallmark of a Middle-earth film has always been the impressive range of talent in every role. The Hunt for Gollum continues that legacy, and I am thrilled to announce the return of two of Middle-earth’s most cherished performers, alongside some incredibly gifted new additions to Tolkien’s universe," Serkis stated.
