Carolina Caroline Trailer: A Crime Romance by Adam Carter Rehmeier, director of Dinner in America and Snack Shack.

      Following the dynamic and entertaining films Dinner in America and Snack Shack, director Adam Carter Rehmeier returns with his fifth feature, Carolina Caroline. Reuniting with Kyle Gallner and including Samara Weaving, the crime romance made its debut at TIFF and will be released on June 5 by Magnolia Pictures. The first trailer has now been released in anticipation of the premiere.

      Here’s a brief overview: “Renowned director Adam Carter Rehmeier’s romantic crime thriller features Samara Weaving (READY OR NOT 2: HERE I COME) as Caroline Daniels, whose aspiration to escape her small Texas town leads her to cross paths with a charming con artist (Kyle Gallner), as they embark on a journey of crime and passion throughout the American Southeast. The film also stars Kyra Sedgwick and boasts a diverse country music soundtrack, featuring tracks from artists like Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton, Loretta Lynn, and many others.”

      In his review, Jared Mobarak noted, “Written by Tom Dean and directed by Adam Carter Rehmeier, Carolina Caroline primarily presents itself as a love story. This aspect attracted Rehmeier to the project, as he and Dean transformed a more refined Oliver into the country western drifter we see. The film also explores a love-at-first-sight dynamic––Caroline quietly observes him defraud her boss while Oliver glances back to ensure she’s noticing. He appreciates her daring to confront him and demand the money he took, while she’s intrigued by his willingness to obey with a grin before mysteriously referencing her name to pique her curiosity further.”
