Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu are on track to achieve a million in domestic box office revenue during their launch.
We are just three weeks away from the release of our first Star Wars film on the big screen since 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker, and box office experts are speculating on the performance of the Disney+ spin-off, Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the Jon Favreau-directed science fiction film is projected to earn around $80 million at the domestic box office during the four-day Memorial Day weekend, which aligns with the expectations of Disney and Lucasfilm.
If it achieves that figure, it will be comparable to 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story, which opened with $84 million domestically over the three-day Memorial Day weekend and totaled $104 million over the four-day period.
Favreau, who developed the Disney+ series The Mandalorian, directed the film based on a script he co-wrote with Dave Filoni and Noah Kloor. This movie will continue the journey of Pedro Pascal’s bounty hunter and his adorable companion, Baby Yoda, also known as Grogu. Featuring Sigourney Weaver and Jeremey Allen White, Mandalorian and Grogu have a few weeks to boost those projections, including the Star Wars celebration on May 4th, before we discover if this truly is the way.
With the evil Empire defeated and Imperial warlords scattered across the galaxy, the nascent New Republic is striving to safeguard the victories of the Rebellion and has called on the legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu for assistance.
Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu will be released in theaters on May 22, 2026.
