The Eighth Doctor meets recognizable characters in Doctor Who – Time War Uncharted: Branches.
The audio adventures of the Eighth Doctor set during the Time War continue with the release of Doctor Who – Time War Uncharted: Branches by Big Finish Productions. In this latest full-cast audio drama, the Doctor reunites with several familiar faces, though not all are quite as he remembers. There’s also an uncomfortable family reunion on the horizon for the Doctor and his great-grandson, Alex.
The Eighth Doctor, Alex, and their companion Cass have been traversing a bizarre universe while evading the conflict between the Time Lords and the Daleks. Throughout their journey, they encounter the temporal diplomat Hieronyma Friend, who has assumed the appearance of the Doctor’s previous companions. Will this dubious diplomat continue to be a nuisance for the Doctor, or will he finally see past her façade?
This box set contains four new episodes:
- The Only Girl in the World by John Dorney – While searching for Cass, the Doctor and Alex meet an alternate version of her from the Uncharted universe aboard an old slave ship. The daring and perilous Cassie seeks revenge on the ruthless killer Mr. Karl, who has annihilated her homeworld.
- False Dawn by Alison Winter – A rapidly spreading invasive species threatens the uncharted universe, and the Doctor is called upon to investigate and find a way to halt its progress. Can he prevent this species from breaking down the barriers between worlds?
- Council of Susan by Tim Foley – A treacherous barrier halts the time travelers' progress, leading them to discover the Council of Susan. All members of this peculiar organization recognize the enigmatic time traveler known as ‘Grandfather.’ Is a family reunion in store for the Doctor and Alex?
- All Over by Patrick O’Connor – The stage is set with an empty blue box on the ice and a dilapidated house at the edge of the Uncharted universe, preparing for a friendly face as everything approaches its conclusion.
