In anticipation of its July debut, Apple TV has released a new trailer for Cape Fear, featuring Javier Bardem as the deranged Max Cady, who seeks to torment a married couple of attorneys portrayed by Amy Adams and Patrick Wilson.

This limited series draws inspiration from Martin Scorsese’s 1991 thriller, which, like the 1962 original, was adapted from John D. MacDonald’s novel The Executioners. The show is led by showrunner Nick Antosca (Channel Zero, Brand New Cherry Flavor), with Scorsese and Steven Spielberg serving as executive producers alongside Bardem and Adams; you can view the trailer below.

A storm looms over the happy marriage of attorneys Anna (Amy Adams) and Tom Bowden (Patrick Wilson) when Max Cady (Javier Bardem), the infamous criminal they helped convict, is released from prison, and he seeks revenge.

The ten-episode series cast also includes CCH Pounder, Anna Baryshnikov, Margarita Levieva, Jamie Hector, Lily Collias, Joe Anders, Malia Pyles, Patrick Fischler, Ted Levine, and Ron Perlman. Cape Fear is set to premiere on Apple TV on July 31, 2026.
