Javier Bardem’s portrayal of Max Cady instills dread in the latest Cape Fear trailer.
In advance of its July premiere, Apple TV has released a new trailer for Cape Fear, featuring Javier Bardem as the psychopathic Max Cady, who seeks to torment a married couple of attorneys portrayed by Amy Adams and Patrick Wilson.
This limited series draws inspiration from Martin Scorsese's 1991 thriller, which, like its 1962 original, is based on John D. MacDonald's novel The Executioners. Nick Antosca (Channel Zero, Brand New Cherry Flavor) serves as the showrunner, with Scorsese and Steven Spielberg joining Bardem and Adams as executive producers. You can watch the trailer below.
A storm is brewing for the happily married attorneys Anna (Amy Adams) and Tom Bowden (Patrick Wilson) when Max Cady (Javier Bardem), the infamous criminal they helped imprison, is released from prison and seeks revenge.
In addition to Amy Adams, Javier Bardem, and Patrick Wilson, the ten-episode series features a cast that includes CCH Pounder, Anna Baryshnikov, Margarita Levieva, Jamie Hector, Lily Collias, Joe Anders, Malia Pyles, Patrick Fischler, Ted Levine, and Ron Perlman.
Cape Fear is set to premiere on Apple TV on July 31, 2026.
