The trailer for the horror-thriller Buzzheart reveals a sinister twist when meeting the in-laws.

      In conjunction with its digital release this week, Dark Star Pictures has unveiled a trailer for Dennis Iliadis’ (The Last House on the Left) upcoming horror-thriller, Buzzheart.

      Set in 1990s Athens, the story centers on Argyris, a reserved young man who is invited to meet the family of his stunning new girlfriend, Mary. However, their weekend at Mary’s parents' remote home takes a sinister turn when her family puts Argyris through a series of increasingly unsettling tests to determine if he is worthy of their daughter.

      Buzzheart tells the story of 19-year-old Argyris, a shy young man who finds himself in an unexpected relationship with Mary—a beautiful and mysterious girl who seems beyond his reach. When she invites him to her parents' isolated country house, what starts as an awkward romantic retreat quickly devolves into a far more sinister situation. In claiming to protect their delicate daughter, Mary's parents put Argyris through a series of increasingly strange and violent challenges to assess his worth.

      As the weekend progresses, the family's deeply troubled dynamics become apparent, ensnaring Argyris in a perverse psychological struggle for survival—where perceptions can be deceptive and trust is a rarity.
