The trailer for the horror-thriller Buzzheart reveals a sinister twist to meeting the in-laws.

In conjunction with its digital release this week, Dark Star Pictures has unveiled a trailer for the upcoming horror-thriller Buzzheart, written and directed by Dennis Iliadis (The Last House on the Left).

Set in Athens during the 1990s, the film centers around Argyris, a timid young man who is invited to meet the family of his stunning new girlfriend Mary. However, their weekend at Mary’s parents' remote home takes a sinister turn when they subject Argyris to a succession of increasingly unsettling tests to determine his worthiness for their daughter.

The cast features Evelina Papoulia, Giorgos Liantos, Konstantina Messini, and Claudio Kaya. Take a look at the trailer below...

Buzzheart tells the story of 19-year-old Argyris, who unexpectedly starts dating Mary, a captivating and mysterious young woman who appears to be beyond his reach. When she invites him to her family’s secluded countryside residence, what starts as an awkward romantic retreat quickly devolves into a far more disturbing experience. Under the guise of protecting their delicate daughter, Mary’s parents put Argyris through a series of increasingly strange and harsh tests to evaluate his worth.

As the weekend progresses, the family's profoundly dysfunctional dynamics become evident, ensnaring Argyris in a twisted psychological battle for survival—where nothing is as it seems and trust is elusive.

Buzzheart will be available on Digital and VOD from May 19th.
