Paul McGann’s Eighth Doctor encounters the Sycorax this November in a new Doctor Who story.

      Paul McGann’s Eighth Doctor will confront familiar foes alongside new companions this November with the release of Doctor Who: The Eighth Doctor Adventures – New Pathways, a new full-cast audio drama box set from Big Finish Productions. This six-part audio drama miniseries, presented across two box sets, features the Doctor and his companions battling the Sycorax.

      The Doctor has previously encountered the Sycorax twice: first in the 2005 Doctor Who Christmas special, The Christmas Invasion, and again in the 2016 audio episode Classic Doctors, New Monsters, featuring the Seventh Doctor. Now, the Eighth Doctor, along with his steadfast companion Alfie Steep (Sam Stafford) and new ally Chase Moyo (Natalie Gumede), is set to thwart the Sycorax's schemes in late twenty-first century Britain.

      New Pathways will showcase three thrilling stories:

      Chase by Alan Ronald – Chase is stuck in a soul-destroying call centre job until an unexpected connection to a mysterious police box introduces her to the Doctor, setting her life on a transformative path.

      Magic of the Sycorax by Katharine Armitage – Chase’s inaugural journey in the TARDIS leads her to a secluded mining outpost under siege by formidable and hostile forces. While the Doctor has triumphed over the Sycorax before, they now wield greater magic and darkness, and the TARDIS crew has more at stake than ever.

      Blast from the Past by Robert Valentine – In one of the TARDIS's more adventurous escapades, the time travelers find themselves in Burnley in 2096, only to realize that the UK is under an authoritarian regime led by the fascist Bastian Clore. History has taken a dire turn, but is there a deeper menace beyond Clore's propaganda? Meanwhile, Chase learns that her descendants are part of an underground group intent on overthrowing Clore's rule.

      Additionally, this box set includes a brand-new feature-length audio documentary that commemorates thirty years of Paul McGann’s Doctor.
