Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for The Social Reckoning, the sequel to David Fincher’s biographical drama, The Social Network.

Aaron Sorkin, the screenwriter of Social Network, shifts to the director’s role for this thriller, which is based on the true story of young Facebook engineer Frances Haugen (Mikey Madison) as she partners with Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz (Jeremy Allen White) to uncover the company's closely held secrets.

The cast also features Wunmi Mosaku, Betty Gilpin, Billy Magnussen, Bill Burr, and Jeremy Strong. You can view the trailer below.

Serving as a companion to the acclaimed film The Social Network, Sorkin’s original screenplay draws inspiration from the events that led to the Wall Street Journal’s explosive exposé, The Facebook Files. The movie chronicles Frances Haugen's (Madison) collaboration with Jeff Horwitz (White) on a perilous mission that ultimately reveals the most confidential secrets of the social media giant.

The Social Reckoning is set to hit theaters on October 9th.
