      Gamers anticipating the remake of a classic shoot-’em-up from the 16-bit era will be delighted to know that Apidya’ Special is now open for pre-order. ININ Games and developer Team Apidya have remastered this beloved title, which can be pre-ordered for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch in both physical and digital formats, set to release on 25th August.       The vibrant action of Apidya, featuring our bee hero battling through an insect-themed fantasy realm, has been faithfully recreated in Apidya’ Special. It retains the challenging gameplay and iconic soundtrack that helped the original become a favorite among gamers.

      In Apidya’ Special, players can choose between two visual modes: an HD widescreen option for those who prefer pixel-perfect gameplay and the original 4:3 format from home computers. There will also be CRT shader options, bloom effects, and authentic scanline simulation, along with improved graphics that were meant for a console version that ultimately was not released.

      Similar to the original, players will progress through five distinct zones, each presenting unique themes and enemies. However, this upcoming version expands these zones to feature hidden special stages and 20 distinct bosses. Additionally, there will be random in-game events, such as ‘Night Mode’, introducing new challenges.

      The exceptional music was a significant aspect of the game's appeal, and fans will be pleased to learn that the remake's soundtrack has been composed by Chris Hülsbeck.

      PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch gamers can anticipate two exclusive physical versions – the Limited Edition and the Special Edition. The latter includes a comprehensive package of exclusive content, featuring an artbook detailing the development of Apidya, as well as two CDs containing the original soundtrack, new renditions of the classics, and original Amiga recordings.

      Apidya’ Special is currently available for digital and physical pre-order through the ININ Games website.
