A film adaptation of Stephen King's Mister Yummy is currently in development.

      Deadline has reported that a feature film adaptation of Stephen King’s short story "Mister Yummy" is being developed by Australian filmmaker Ben Young (known for Hounds of Love and Devil’s Peak).

      Originally published in King’s 2015 collection "The Bazaar of Bad Dreams," "Mister Yummy" centers on Ollie Franklin, a charming resident in an assisted living facility who starts to have unsettling visions following the passing of another resident. As the distinctions between memory, regret, and the supernatural begin to fade, Ollie must confront hidden secrets from his past before time runs out for him.

      Young expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Stephen King was one of the first authors I read profoundly, so it’s a true honor to work on something that comes from his creativity. What I appreciate about 'Mister Yummy' is how the horror is intertwined with the humanity. It’s eerie, poignant, character-driven, and precisely the type of film I would eagerly watch. Additionally, this will be the first feature I direct that I’ve also co-written since Hounds of Love, so shaping the script into a Stephen King film I would want to experience has been a wonderful process.”

      As always, there are numerous other Stephen King-related projects in development, including a remake of "The Mist" by Mike Flanagan (who also has a new series adaptation of "Carrie" on the way), a fresh version of the rabid dog horror "Cujo" by Netflix, and an adaptation of his novella "Rat."
