Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for Klara and the Sun, the upcoming comedy-drama directed by Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok, Jojo Rabbit).
Inspired by the bestselling novel by Nobel Prize winner Kazuo Ishiguro, the film features Jenna Ortega as Klara, an Artificial Friend selected by a young woman named Josie (Mia Tharia), who brings Klara home to help her grieving family heal.

Klara and the Sun introduces viewers to Klara (Jenna Ortega), an Artificial Friend who longs for the perfect home. When Klara encounters Josie (Mia Tharia), they instantly recognize a kindred spirit in each other. Josie struggles with a difficult relationship with her mother (Amy Adams) and has experienced significant loss, but Klara’s naive wonder and steadfast loyalty begin to mend the family and illuminate Josie’s complicated life.
Klara and the Sun is set to hit theaters on October 23rd.
