      On the outer edges of the Federation, red shirts serve a purpose beyond just dying—they are exploited. When security officer Harry Deubert discovers contraband concealed in the body of a fallen comrade, he stumbles upon Section Null—a clandestine Starfleet division that transforms expendable red shirts into players within an extensive criminal plot. Partnering with Lyna Taval, an Andorian officer who has her own hidden motives, Deubert digs deeper than is safe… and becomes a target.
