Lost Chapters Trailer: Esteemed Venezuelan Drama Features a Return Home

      A standout from last year’s New Directors/New Films, where it had its North American Premiere, Lorena Alvarado’s poetic debut feature Lost Chapters (Los capítulos perdidos) has been acquired by Several Futures for a release this week. The highly regarded Venezuelan film will debut on Friday, July 24, with a special engagement at the IFC Center in New York, followed by a rollout in select U.S. cities. The opening-weekend screenings at the IFC Center will include Q&As with filmmaker Lorena Alvarado, and a portion of the box-office proceeds will be donated to those affected by the recent earthquakes in Venezuela. In anticipation of its release, the new trailer has been unveiled.

      Here’s the synopsis: “Lost Chapters follows Ena, who returns to Caracas after spending years living abroad. Upon her return, she finds herself caught between two evolving worlds: her grandmother is quickly losing her memory, while her father dedicates his days to searching for rare and forgotten Venezuelan books for his bookstore. Ena’s path shifts when she uncovers a mysterious postcard hidden among the shelves, prompting her to embark on a quest through the city in search of a long-lost writer.”
