Colin Burgess Steps into a Surreal Realm in Exclusive Trailer for In the Mouth, Set for Fall Release
One of the most remarkable American indie films I've encountered in the past year features Colin Burgess from Free Time and Dad & Step-Dad in a surreal comedy. Cory Santilli’s film, In the Mouth, premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival, and we are excited to exclusively announce that Antenna Releasing has acquired it for a limited theatrical release in September, followed by a streaming debut on Cineverse’s Fandor platform on October 6th, with a VOD release set for late October. In anticipation of this, we're delighted to share the trailer and poster.
The film, both bizarre and endearing, centers on a chronic worrier who becomes unable to leave his home after finding a giant version of himself sticking out of his front lawn. “This film was born from pure frustration during a period of housebound agoraphobia that lasted several years,” Santilli explains. “We filmed it in 11 days with a crew of five. I’m extremely thankful for this film for pushing me to take those first steps back outside, and we’re all really appreciative to Antenna for believing in our project.”
“At Antenna, we support the underdogs,” states Chief Acquisitions Officer Billy Ray Brewton. “In the Mouth is deeply personal and told with such vibrant creativity—it resonated with us instantly and feels like something that deserves widespread viewing.”
Antenna, which also secured the Slamdance premieres Stolen Kingdom and Coroner to the Stars, was established by Ryan Verrill of The Disc-Connected and Someone’s Favorite Productions network; filmmaker Francis Galluppi (Last Stop in Yuma County; the upcoming Evil Dead Wrath); and filmmaker, film programmer, and podcaster Billy Ray Brewton. Antenna’s goal is to challenge and reshape the existing model of independent film distribution by fostering close relationships with filmmakers, ensuring fairness and transparency, and a strong desire to highlight the art and artists at the forefront.
