Dark Horse has announced the graphic novel adaptation of Stranger Things: The First Shadow.
Great news for fans of Stranger Things who are unable to visit Broadway or the West End, as Dark Horse has revealed an upcoming graphic novel adaptation of the celebrated stage play, Stranger Things: The First Shadow.
The graphic novel, penned by Rachel Pinnelas and featuring artwork by Jake Bartok, Michael Atiyeh, and Tyler Smith, spans 80 pages and adapts the Tony Award-winning play, which acts as a prequel to the popular Netflix series. It delves into the background of Henry Creel before he becomes Vecna.
Set in Hawkins, Indiana in 1959, the Creel family hopes for a new beginning, particularly their teenage son Henry, who wants to leave his troubled history behind. At first, things appear to be going well—he makes friends and participates in the school play. However, when a series of shocking crimes hits the town, Henry must face a frightening realization: something within him might be linked to the terrifying events surrounding him. As this suspenseful mystery unfolds, past shadows emerge, relationships are strained, and the community of Hawkins must unite to confront unspeakable evil.
Stranger Things: The First Shadow will be available for purchase on January 19, 2027.
