Rooney Mara and Kate Mara Are Aligned in the First Clip from Werner Herzog's Bucking Fastard.
A highlight of this year’s Venice Film Festival lineup is the return of Werner Herzog, whose new film Bucking Fastard will have its world premiere in competition. Featuring Kate Mara, Rooney Mara, Orlando Bloom, and Domhnall Gleeson, the first clip has just been released, showcasing our leading sisters in perfect harmony.
Here’s the synopsis: “BUCKING FASTARD tells the story of two sisters, Jean and Joan Holbrooke (Kate Mara, Rooney Mara), who share such a deep bond that they speak together, love the same man, and have identical dreams. They even make the same verbal blunders simultaneously. While we cannot perceive the world through their eyes, we can observe how the world perceives them – through the legal system and the media, through those who wish to assist them and those who seek to exploit them, as well as through the perspectives of both tame and wild creatures, and even through their own reverberations within the earth.”
