Dark Sky Films has unveiled a trailer for Blood Shine, a forthcoming folk horror film from writer-directors Emily Bennett and Justin Brooks.
The narrative centers on Clara (played by Bennett), a solitary religious fanatic who takes a troubled filmmaker (David Call) hostage in her remote home in upstate New York to carry out her twisted rituals.
Alongside Bennett and Call, the cast includes Brendan Sexton III, Toby Poser, Kyle Minshew, Maurice P. Kerry, and Larry Fessenden. You can watch the trailer below...
In upstate New York, Clara is a devout zealot who reveres light through her solitary and sacred rituals. Brighton West, a horror filmmaker, encounters Clara while working on his script, pulling him into a surreal entanglement of faith, flesh, and the extraordinary.
Blood Shine is scheduled for release on August 21st.
