MGM+ releases trailer for its adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities featuring Kit Harington.

      MGM+ has released a trailer for A Tale of Two Cities, a television adaptation of Charles Dickens' most popular English novel.

      Set in London during 1782, amid rising tensions between Britain and France, the drama revolves around Lucie Manette, a young woman determined to uncover the truth about her father's disappearance two decades prior after a French émigré delivers a letter suggesting he might still be alive. However, when the messenger is accused of treason, she seeks the assistance of a brilliant young lawyer to help him, which complicates her life as she finds herself in a complex love triangle with both men.

      The cast features Kit Harington, François Civil, Mirren Mack, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Yannick Renier, Fehinti Balogun, Barry Aird, Roxane Duran, Theo Costa-Marini, and Guillaume Gallienne.

      A Tale of Two Cities is a timeless narrative about redemption through sacrifice, the pain of unreciprocated love, the inevitable and fierce uprising of oppressed people, and most importantly, the strength of family. In 1782 London, as tensions escalate in the conflict between France and Britain, Lucie Manette's life changes dramatically when she receives a message from Paris – her father, long thought to be dead, might actually be alive. The messenger, the idealistic French émigré Charles Darnay, is arrested on charges of treason. Lucie seeks the aid of a brilliant yet unpredictable young lawyer, Sydney Carton, to liberate Darnay, hoping he can guide her to Paris to find her father. The intersection of Lucie's life with Darnay and Carton ignites a powerful and intricate love triangle, with both men striving to win her affection, leaving Lucie conflicted about her choice. Yet, both men – so similar in appearance but vastly different in spirit – cannot escape each other's influence, ultimately binding them together in life and death, through victories, losses, marriage, and violence.

      A Tale of Two Cities debuts on September 6th.
