MGM+ releases trailer for the adaptation of Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities featuring Kit Harington.

      MGM+ has released a trailer for A Tale of Two Cities, the television adaptation of Charles Dickens' most famous English language novel.

      Set in London in 1782, during heightened tensions between Britain and France, this drama series follows Lucie Manette, a young woman determined to uncover the truth behind her father's mysterious disappearance 20 years ago, spurred by a letter from a French émigré suggesting he may still be alive. However, when the messenger is accused of treason, she seeks the aid of a brilliant young lawyer to help secure his release, leading her into a complicated love triangle with both men.

      The cast features Kit Harington, François Civil, Mirren Mack, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Yannick Renier, Fehinti Balogun, Barry Aird, Roxane Duran, Theo Costa-Marini, and Guillaume Gallienne.

      A Tale of Two Cities is a timeless narrative of redemption through sacrifice, the pain of unreciprocated love, the inevitable uprising of the oppressed, and above all, the strength of family. In London, 1782, tensions escalate in the conflict between France and Britain. Lucie Manette's life changes dramatically when she receives news from Paris that her father, believed to have been dead for nearly two decades, might still be alive. The messenger, the idealistic French émigré Charles Darnay, finds himself imprisoned and charged with treason. Lucie turns to a talented but unpredictable young lawyer, Sydney Carton, for assistance in freeing Darnay, hoping he will guide her to Paris to find her father. This intertwining of Darnay and Carton's lives ignites a profound and intricate love triangle. Both men strive to prove themselves worthy of Lucie's affection, leaving her conflicted about whom to choose. Yet, neither man—so similar in appearance yet so different in spirit—can truly escape the other. They become irreversibly connected through life and death, triumphs and tragedies, marriage and murder.

      A Tale of Two Cities premieres on September 6th.
