HBO Max is generating buzz for the upcoming release of its DC Studios series, Lanterns, by unveiling the first five minutes ahead of its highly anticipated launch this weekend.
Created by Chris Mundy (Ozark), Damon Lindelof (LOST), and Tom King (Mister Miracle), Lanterns features Aaron Pierre (Rebel Ridge) as John Stewart and Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights) as Hal Jordan, along with Kelly Macdonald, Garrett Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Sherman Augustus, J. Alphonse Nicholson, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Ulrich Thomsen, and Nathan Fillion.

The series centers on the new recruit John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) and Lantern veteran Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler), two intergalactic police officers pulled into a sinister, earthbound mystery linked to the cosmos as they probe a murder in the heart of America.
