Kevin Smith is crafting a crossover between Star Wars and Marvel titled Hope Assembles.

      It has been a long time in the making, especially since the House of Mouse has overseen both franchises for nearly 15 years. However, the moment has finally arrived, as the realms of Star Wars and Marvel are about to merge in "Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles," a limited five-issue comic book crossover series penned by Kevin Smith and illustrated by David Marquez, set to debut in 2027 as part of the 50th-anniversary festivities for the Star Wars universe.

      "In the early '80s, I had a subscription to Marvel's Star Wars comics. While it was enjoyable to follow the journeys of Luke, Leia, and Han, I always hoped for a crossover featuring Spider-Man or Doctor Doom in their cinematic story," remarks Kevin Smith. "So when the chance to tell that story arose, there was no need to Force my hand! I'm thrilled to be writing 'Hope Assembles' for the 50th anniversary of Star Wars! I sincerely thank Marvel Comics and Lucasfilm for allowing me to pilot the Falcon and the Quinjet!"
