12 Actors Who Have Changed Their Political Affiliations
Here are 12 actors who have shifted their political affiliations throughout their careers.
Some have leaned left, while others have leaned right.
All have undergone changes.

In 2013, Rob Schneider departed from the Democratic Party, stating to The Blaze, “California is a mess, and the supermajority of Democrats is not working. I’ve been a lifelong Democrat, but now I must switch because it's not serving the people of this great state.”
By 2017, he informed Larry King that he considered himself “an independent, but definitely more conservative,” stating, “I’m against any form of taking away people’s rights.” He pointed out that while it was once the right that was more prone to infringing on rights, it is now the liberals.
Last June, he endorsed Robert Kennedy Jr., who was competing against President Biden in the Democratic primaries. After Kennedy declared his independent candidacy, Schneider continued to support him, participating in an event dubbed A Night of Laughter with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
However, after Kennedy paused his campaign in August and endorsed Trump, Schneider also threw his support behind Trump.
“As a fellow American citizen and Robert Kennedy Jr. supporter, I urge you to OPPOSE TYRANNY and join us in VOTING FOR DONALD J. TRUMP FOR PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” Schneider posted on X.

James Woods, known for classics like Videodrome and Casino (above), tweeted that he was a Democrat “for years, until Clinton was impeached,” adding, “Every single Democrat supported a convicted perjurer. That was the end.”
Now, he is one of the most vocal conservatives in Hollywood, expressing his disdain for Kamala Harris after she succeeded Biden as the Democrats’ presidential candidate.
Ronald Reagan

Indeed, even Ronald Reagan switched parties. He once regarded Democratic president Franklin D. Roosevelt as a “true hero” and backed Democrat Harry S. Truman during the 1948 election.
However, in 1952, he supported Dwight D. Eisenhower’s Republican campaign and favored Ike’s vice president, Richard Nixon, in 1960.
That’s him in the 1940 film Knute Rockne, All American.

The Mean Girls actress has frequently shifted her political stance. During the 2008 presidential election, she offered her assistance to Democrat Barack Obama’s campaign but received a polite decline. Later, she criticized Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin in her blog, attacking her environmental views and labeling her as a “narrow-minded, media-obsessed homophobe.”
In contrast, she supported Republican nominee Mitt Romney in 2012 and later expressed support for President Obama. By 2017, she urged her Twitter followers to ease up on President Trump, asking them to “Stop bullying him and start trusting him.”
Interestingly, in 2004, Trump remarked to Howard Stern that Lohan, at 18, was “probably deeply troubled and therefore great in bed,” suggesting that “deeply troubled women” often excel in that area.
Currently, that’s Lohan in Netflix’s Falling for Christmas, though the Freaky Friday actress has recently steered clear of political discourse.

Former Grey’s Anatomy star Isaiah Washington discussed his choice to “walk away” from the Democratic Party and support President Trump in a 2019 interview.
“Walking away … is a sacrifice, it’s a risk, and it comes with a price,” Washington explained on Fox Nation’s “Nuff Said,” adding, “the reason I’ve chosen to walk away from the Democratic Party is that something doesn’t feel right.”
He stated, “I don’t know where I’m headed, but I know where I come from. If I examine the political landscape of the Democratic Party over the past 50 years since I was 5, and see little has changed for my community, then I have many questions — more than just questions.”
Chuck Norris

Chuck Norris remarked in a 2014 interview that he “used to be a Democrat, but unfortunately, the Democrats have moved too far left,” stating, “What the Democrats believed 40 years ago, the Republicans believe today. … The Democrats went too far off track.”
Norris now supports Republican candidates and writes a regular column for the right-leaning WorldNetDaily.
Before the Biden-Trump debate in June, he offered a balanced analysis, comparing the debate to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and advising both candidates to avoid being overconfident.
That’s him above, showing support for the troops.
