Paramount Pictures and producer Kate Hudson are in the early stages of developing a sequel to the beloved romantic comedy How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days.

As reported by Variety, Hudson is eager to reunite with her co-star Matthew McConaughey for this follow-up, which currently has no other participants attached to it.

Directed by Donald Petrie (Miss Congeniality), the original How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days was released in February 2003, receiving both critical acclaim and commercial success, earning $178 million on a $50 million budget, and has since remained a staple of movie nights and repertory cinema screenings.

The plot centers on Benjamin Barry (McConaughey), an advertising executive and notorious womanizer who wagers with his colleagues that he can make a woman of their choosing fall in love with him in just 10 days to secure a lucrative contract. The woman selected is Andie Anderson (Kate Hudson), who coincidentally is writing an article on how to lose a guy in 10 days as part of a bet with her boss for the chance to tackle more significant stories. As they embark on their relationship with hidden intentions, they gradually start to develop genuine feelings for each other.
