Rashomon-inspired horror film Burning reveals trailer prior to its digital launch.
In anticipation of its release next week, IndiePix Films has unveiled a trailer for the psychological horror-thriller Burning, directed by Radik Eshimov. The film employs a fractured truth narrative style reminiscent of the classic Rashomon; you can watch the trailer below…
In a village where grief looms heavier than smoke, a house ignites, and the reason is contested by all. A young family has just buried their firstborn child. In the weeks that ensue, the mother moves from door to door, seeking help that no one comprehends, before disappearing into the trees at the forest’s edge. The father’s mother arrives unexpectedly and without explanation. Then, one night, the house is engulfed in flames.
What transpired within remains a mystery—except for what the neighbors believe they witnessed. At the village shop, three witnesses exchange snippets of the same evening, with each snippet twisting into something grimmer than the last. A curse, some suggest. Others claim it was the grief that transformed into a monster. Each retelling shifts the blame onto a different family member, and every new detail makes the previous ones feel like fabrications. By the time the complete narrative emerges, the distinction between what truly happened and what the village needed to believe has completely vanished. And nestled between fact and folklore, in the realm no single witness can perceive, the true horror awaits—patient and closer than anyone realizes.
Burning is set to premiere on IndiePix Unlimited on September 4th, 2026.
