      Kino Lorber has unveiled a trailer for the forthcoming drama Atonement, written and directed by Reed Van Dyk. This film, inspired by true events, features Boyd Holbrook as a troubled former U.S. Marine who seeks help from a New York journalist to connect with the Khachaturian family. His intention is to reach out to the family he inadvertently affected during the early days of the Iraq War, as he hopes for redemption and reconciliation with the grieving survivors.

      Displaced from their home due to U.S. military actions in the early stages of the Iraq War, the Khachaturian family finds shelter with relatives, uniting three generations under one roof. However, when another bombing occurs close by, they opt to return to their home across the city. As they traverse the war-ravaged streets of Baghdad, the family becomes ensnared in a gunfight between U.S. Marines and insurgents, leading to a devastating split-second decision made by one Marine that impacts their lives severely. Years later, tormented by his experiences in Iraq, the Marine, with assistance from a journalist from New York, seeks to make amends with the Khachaturian matriarch and the surviving members of her family. Featuring poignant and memorable performances from Boyd Holbrook, Hiam Abbass, and Kenneth Branagh, Atonement presents a deeply human narrative that examines the profound costs of war and delves into universal themes of guilt, redemption, and forgiveness.
