Jake Gyllenhaal is set to appear in M. Night Shyamalan's supernatural romance film.

Jake Gyllenhaal is anticipated to explore some of that Nightcrawler darkness by joining M. Night Shyamalan’s enigmatic new supernatural romance.

As reported by Deadline, the untitled film is a supernatural romantic thriller co-written by Shyamalan and Nicholas Sparks, known for works like A Walk to Remember, The Notebook, and Dear John.

The duo developed an original story and are each crafting separate scripts for the film. While both will center on the same characters and concept, they will tailor their screenplays to their individual genres of horror and romance.

Gyllenhaal recently enjoyed a successful 2024, receiving critical praise for his role in Apple TV+’s adaptation of Presumed Innocent, while also achieving streaming success with Prime Video’s Road House remake directed by Doug Liman. Shyamalan also had a strong year, guiding his $30 million thriller Trap to a worldwide summer gross of $83 million.
