Chilling new trailer for The Rule of Jenny Pen featuring John Lithgow and Geoffrey Rush.
IFC Films has unveiled a new trailer for The Rule of Jenny Pen, an adaptation by writer-director James Ashcroft of Owen Marshall’s short story bearing the same title.
The horror thriller features Geoffrey Rush as Stefan, a former judge who relocates to a retirement home after suffering a stroke that left him partially paralyzed. There, he soon finds himself in a clash with the seemingly mild-mannered Dave (John Lithgow), who covertly uses his dementia doll as a tool for cruelty against the other residents, leading to deadly repercussions. You can watch the trailer below…
Arrogant Judge Stefan Mortensen (Rush) endures a near-fatal stroke that results in partial paralysis and forces him into a retirement home. With a reluctance to engage with the staff and a distance from his amiable roommate, Mortensen quickly comes into conflict with the apparently gentle resident Dave Crealy (Lithgow). Unbeknownst to others, Crealy terrorizes the home with his sadistic game known as “The Rule of Jenny Pen,” using his dementia doll as an instrument of torment. What starts as innocent teasing rapidly escalates into much darker and more unsettling events. As Mortensen’s cries for help are ignored, he resolves to end Crealy’s reign of terror himself.
The Rule of Jenny Pen is set to hit theaters on March 7th.
