Lovecraftian FPS Beneath has started its closed beta, accompanied by a new trailer.

Wired Productions, alongside the Portuguese indie studio Camel 101, has announced that players can now register for the closed beta playtest of their forthcoming horror FPS, Beneath. You'll find the sign-up link below. Additionally, a new trailer has been released (see below) that highlights some of the tense environments and terrifying encounters awaiting players.

Beneath is influenced by classic games like F.E.A.R., Resident Evil, and Half-Life, offering a first-person survival horror experience that intertwines action, atmospheric storytelling, suspense, and numerous Lovecraftian terrors.

In this game, players will follow experienced diver Noah Quinn, who finds himself ensnared in the ocean's depths with an ancient evil during what was supposed to be a routine mission. As his supplies run low and the creatures close in, Noah must face these unholy terrors and reveal the dark threat looming over humanity.

      Key features of Beneath include:

      - Limited supplies and ammunition requiring players to be judicious with every shot while keeping their sanity intact.

      - The option to hide in shadows to evade conflict or engage in direct combat with enemies; players will need to learn their strategies to survive.

      - Exploration of hidden underwater areas using a specialized diving suit to uncover the ocean's secrets, while monitoring oxygen levels.

      - A diverse array of foes, from merciless soldiers to nightmarish Lovecraftian monsters.

      - An intriguing narrative filled with enigmas and eldritch horrors.

Beneath is set to launch later this year on Steam for PC, and players can add the game to their wishlist now. If you're interested in the closed beta, click here.
