The prequel series to Legally Blonde has cast its young Elle.

      Last year, it was announced that Amazon had ordered a series based on a Legally Blonde prequel from Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine production company. It has now been revealed that Lexi Minetree (The Murdaugh Murders) will play a young Elle Woods in Prime Video’s Elle.

      “Let me introduce you to the new Elle Woods,” Witherspoon shared on social media. “After viewing numerous amazing auditions for the new Elle prequel series on @PrimeVideo, we have finally found our Elle. Today, I’m excited to share this news myself! Meet @LexiMintree.”

      Elle has been developed by Laura Kittrell (High School, Insecure) and will act as a prequel to the beloved 2001 comedy and its 2003 follow-up, focusing on a young Elle Woods in high school and exploring the life experiences that shaped her into the iconic character we came to adore in the first Legally Blonde film.

      “With this series, fans will discover how Elle Woods navigated her teenage years with her unique personality and creativity in ways that only our cherished Elle could manage,” Witherspoon previously commented when the series was first announced.

      Currently, there is no information on a possible premiere date for Elle, though 2026 appears to be a likely target.
