Another day brings another round of casting for Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of the Greek classic The Odyssey. The latest actors to join the expanding cast are Mia Goth (MaXXXine), Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton), Nick Tarabay (Spartacus), Jimmy Gonzales (Mayans M.C.), and Maurice Compte (Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood). Variety reported Goth’s casting, while Deadline announced the remainder. As is common with Nolan’s projects, details are being kept highly confidential, so it remains unclear what roles the new cast members will play in this latest rendition of the Greek tragedy.

Originally told over 2000 years ago by the Greek author Homer, The Odyssey narrates the adventures of Odysseus following the Trojan War as he journeys back to Ithaca. Driven across the seas by the wrath of the Gods, Odysseus spends ten years trying to return home, facing various figures from Greek mythology, including the renowned witch Circe and the cyclops Polyphemus.

The Odyssey boasts a large ensemble cast, many of whom have previously collaborated with Nolan. The new actors join an already announced lineup that includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, Elliot Page, Hamish Patel, Bill Irwin, Samantha Morton, John Leguizamo, Jesse Garcia, and Will Yun Lee.

Christopher Nolan’s forthcoming film, The Odyssey, is a mythic action epic filmed around the globe using the latest Imax film technology. This adaptation brings Homer’s seminal saga to Imax screens for the first time and is set to be released in theaters on July 17, 2026.
